                           Who are the Tucson Sun Rays?

Welcome to the Tucson Sun Rays! We are a competitive and recreational swim team for girls between the ages of 7 to 19 and Masters.   The Tucson Sun Rays was founded in 1984, by head coach  Patty Olstad.  The team competed through 1999 and then resumed in 2006. Our goal is to promote the sport of synchronized swimming in the Tucson area, with offerings for swimmers at all competitive levels.   The Sun Rays have an inspiring competitive history with several Statewide and Regional championship titles, three international medal swimmers, three collegiate scholarship recipients and one US National team member. 

                           What is Synchronized Swimming?

Synchronized Swimming is a sport which requires overall body strength, agility, grace and beauty, split second timing, musical interpretation and dramatic flair.  A unique sport in which power, strength and technical skills are displayed in an artistically choreographed routine.  Synchronized swimming combines the best features of gymnastics, dance, figure skating and swimming, allowing feminine development, both artistically and athletically.  

Synchronized Swimming gives young girls the tools they need to build a successful future, the courage to explore unique talents, the confidence to set lofty goals, and the creativity to reach them. Above all, a commitment to excellence develops the ability to achieve.

                    Is Synchronized Swimming for you?

If you are between the ages of 7 - 19, are comfortable swimming in deep water, and enjoy dancing gymnastics and/or music, then Tucson Sun Rays may be for you!
